To clean your french door’s glass, we recommend creating a homemade cleaning solution. This solution should be a mixture of water and white vinegar. With that said, it’s best to consult your door’s manufacturer to determine what cleaning solutions are appropriate. There should be a 1-1 ratio between the water and white vinegar. Once your mixture is ready, put it into a spray bottle, then take a soft cloth to wipe the mixture off of the glass. You could also use liquid dish soap with warm water instead. If you do this, your mixture will be mainly water with only a couple of drops of soap.

While the glass will often be the eye-catching feature of french doors, that doesn’t mean the rest of the door can be ignored. You still have to maintain the panels, muntins, and frame if you want your french door to look nice. Not only that, but these components also help your door to last longer.
Since these components are also more durable, as well as weather-resistant, maintaining them is easier than maintaining the glass. To start, you want to take a soft brush so you can dust off all of the surfaces. Then, you’ll want to decide on a door-cleaning solution that you can spray onto the surface. Let your door manufacturer tell you what cleaning products are okay to use. When putting a cleaning product on your door, be sure to apply the cleaning product to a soft cloth rather than applying it directly to the surface. This stops you from applying too much cleaning solution at one time. After you’ve finished cleaning your door, rinse it off by using a damp cloth. This gets rid of lingering residue that may attract more dirt and dust.
