This means you’ll need to get it cleaned on occasion, so what is the best way to accomplish this? Keep reading to learn how you should get your crown molding cleaned.

Cleaning Molding Baseboards

If you’re cleaning baseboard molding, start by giving it a quick wipe-down with a common household mixture of vinegar and dish soap. After that, take a soft-bristled brush and use it to get into the tighter nooks and crannies that your baseboards have. Lastly, you should take a vacuum cleaner and use it to get rid of any remaining dirt that your baseboards have collected. Vacuuming is best done towards the end of the cleaning process because you might uncover pieces of dirt during earlier steps of the process that you can then vacuum up with ease.

Cleaning Ceiling Molding

Crown molding trimming that you have on the ceiling can be a real chore to clean. Fortunately, you can start the cleaning process by simply taking a duster or broom to get rid of some of the less stubborn grime your molding has. For more stubborn messes, make a cleaning solution of one cup’s worth of ammonia, half a cup of white vinegar, and one-fourth cup’s worth of baking soda, as well as some water. Then, apply that solution to a soft rag and wipe down your ceiling molding to remove stubborn messes. Once that’s done, simply take a damp cloth to rinse off your molding, then dry it off with a clean and dry cloth.

Cleaning Window Molding

Perhaps you have crown molding along your windows. If you do, then you know how noticeable dirt can be. If you have dust or dirt on your molding, a soft rag and a cleaning solution diluted in water should do the trick. Stains can be a little trickier to handle. For these stains, make a mixture of vinegar and water, and apply it to a sponge. Then, use the sponge to gently scrub away the stains. You don’t want to be too forceful when scrubbing because you’ll run the risk of damaging your crown molding.
